Possible delay at patient’s request.
Referral processed by SCOTCAP. eGFR clinical guidelines followed and any requests for repeat bloods initiated.
SCOTCAP starts pharmacy request process with NHS pharmacy and post bowel prep and instructions when available.
SCOTCAP receives belt and
recorder via NHS transport.
CCE analysed and report produce returned to the NHS
Disconnect belt and recorder.

Return belt and recorder.
Meet patient and sign consent form

Ensure patient has fasted since bowel prep intake. Patients shows SCOTCAP nurse photo of last motion as evidence.

Check patient ready to proceed?

Possible short delay for more prep or water.
Patient attends hub for CCE
procedure
Wait until capsule has been excreted or,
The battery is empty
or,
it is bedtime.

Clinical decision point
Place belt and recorder on patient and sync.

Patient swallows capsule.

Check there are no adverse effects.
SCOTCAP pre-clinic call. Is patient ready to proceed? Check with clinician if concerns about compliance. Arrange clinic date.
Patient leaves with booster package (and instructions for use) and instructions for disconnecting belt.
Patient takes bowel prep
Patient continues to take bowel prep in advance of procedure
